Room By Room Walkthrough
Kitchen
All Dishware should be wrapped in Blank Newsprint and packed in a China Carton (18’’x18’’x28’’). For extra protection, before packing dishes the bottom of the cartons should be lined with the Blank Newsprint or Bubble wrap. Cutlery and Cooking utensils should be packed in a 1.5 Cubic Foot Box or a 2 Cubic Foot Box. Pack all your pots, pans and cookware in a 4 Cubic Foot Carton (18’’x18’’x21’’) . If you are moving your own appliances, Patafie’s rents appliance carts. Appliance carts are equipped with straps and additional wheels to assist you in moving fridges and stoves through your house, up and down stairs. For Extra protection ensure your appliances are wrapped in moving blankets.
Living Room/Dining Room
All your dining room chairs, tabletops and furniture legs should be wrapped in kraft bubble, or for extra ‘peace of mind’ it is recommended to wrap your chairs and tabletops in moving blankets (moving blankets can be purchased or rented from Patafies’s ). Area rugs should be protected by carpet tubing and sealed securely at both ends.
Bedrooms
Pack your clothing in 4 or 5 Cubic Foot Carton. Bed frames must be taken apart and wrapped in moving blankets (which can be purchased or rented from Patafies’s). Nuts and bolts from your bed frame, mirror and dressers should be labeled, placed in a zip lock bag and packed in the “Open First” Boxes. Mattresses and box springs should be wrapped in a mattress cover. This ensures your mattress will stay safe from getting wet, dirty and or torn which can in turn become a costly expense.
Bathrooms
Bathroom items should be packed in a 1.5 Cubic Foot Box or a 2 Cubic Foot Box. Pack your items with bubble wrap or blank newsprint. Place tooth brushes, tooth paste, soap, shampoo, a spare towel and a roll of toilet paper in your “Open First” Box.
Linen Closets
Pack all your excess towels and linen in 5 Cubic Foot Carton Boxes (18’’x18’’x27’’).
Closets and Vestibules
Shoes, Boots and miscellaneous objects are to be packed in 4 Cubic Foot Boxes. Jackets and coats can be packed in the 6 Cubic Foot Box (20’’x20’’x26’’).
Once Items are packed they should be placed in the middle of the room and labeled or written where they belong in your new home.
